“Fabulous training – as always!” Compulsive Hoarding for Housing Managers, Stoke-on-Trent City Council, May 2024

Greetings one and all,

I recently had the pleasure of training my former colleagues from Stoke on Trent City Council.  As I’m sure you are aware, I unquestionably LOVE Stoke and the people from Stoke.  This time it was compulsive hoarding for housing managers.  Tracey asked me to deliver the course to herself and the other managers across housing in Stoke-on-Trent.  I decided to bespoke the course and make it more management / over-view type of affair.  After all it is not going to be the managers who will be going out and visiting these properties and supporting the residents of Stoke.  Now, the managers will have more of an understanding of hoarding and are also equipped with the skills to ensure their staff have done all that they can to support and encourage people into positive changes.

Now, let’s be honest, training like this could be a dry affair – well, nope!  Not with me!  And especially with the audience that I had that day.  Tracey and I ensured that the learners were clearly engaged and motivated. To say that I unequivocally loved every second of the day would be an understatement, meeting up with former colleagues and chums who I have admired for years really put a spring in my step.  In fact, I never wanted the day to end.  I’m so lucky to be surrounded by inspiring people.

So, many thanks to all who attended, Tracey for organising the event and allowing me to work my magic with the aims and objectives.  Tracey is the sort of manager everyone wants to be managing by, she spots where the talent lies and lets them work their magic.

My former partners in crime from Co-Operative working; legendary Sharon and Louise – still making me laugh and think!

The always wonderful Gavin who has had a lot on his mind recently and now things are on the up!  Keep being a star Gavin.

The notoriously hysterical and wonderful Ben, (his acting was a tour de force!) I’ve left your feedback off the blog post Ben… People may wonder!  Needless to say, it was positive but in his own inimitable style.

Plus, his partner in crime Rob, the always talented housing manager who is well aware I’m in love with his Mum.

Lovely Paul, see I did finish on time for you!

Cheers to Carol for a masterclass in acting and always making me laugh so much that my cheeks ache.  Carol is the epitome of authenticity.

Plus, some of the most wonderful people I ever had the pleasure of working alongside, exceptional Joanne who ended up being my glamorous assistant.  Lesley who struggles to take a compliment, but ask her team what they think of her and they’ll give you glowing feedback!  Wonderful Tracey who once knocked my socks off in Motivational Interviewing training by being SO good.  And lest we forget, Emma – a truly beautiful human being who may not recall just how kind she was to me after my Mum passed away.

The love fest draws to a conclusion, here are is the collated feedback:
